Linda Day – Division 5

Graduate of Boyd County High School
Has served on the Board since 2011; Board Chair since 2019
Has lived in Boyd County her entire life
Earned a degree in business from ACTC
She worked for Recognition Media, a New York-based company for over 15 years as the Executive Director of their Ashland, KY location.
Currently, Director of Communications at Safe Harbor.
Mrs. Day and her husband, David, have two children, also graduates of Boyd County High School. This is where her passion began for public education, and she joined the board to help ensure all students get the best opportunity for a great education in Boyd County Public Schools.
She enjoys reading, TV, playing with her “grandchildren” and visiting with friends and family as much as possible.

Lisa Wallin – Divison 3

1977 graduate of Boyd County High School
Has worked in education for over 30 years, first as a substitute teacher throughout the Boyd County System and as a classroom teacher and library media specialist in a neighboring district for the past 27 years.
Elected to the Board of Education in November 2020.
Mrs. Wallin and her husband, Tony, have two children and three grandchildren.

Cindy VanHorn – Division 1

1975 graduate of BCHS
Graduate of King's Daughters School of Radiologic Technology
Graduate of Marshall University
Registered Radiologic Technologist, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Adult and Pediatric Echocardiography, Fellow American Society of Echocardiography
Worked as a Consultant for Hewlett- Packard in medical ultrasound systems research & development in the US & internationally
Retired from Philips Medical Systems as a Technical Sales Specialist
American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer
Currently serve as member Boyd County Foundation for Children and Board of Trustees at Cannonsburg Trinity Community Church

Mike Blakenship – Division 2

1982 Graduate of Boyd County High
Has served on the Board since December 2022.
Pastor for 35 years
He has been serving as Pastor at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church for last 16 years.
Mr. Blankenship and his wife, Mary, have 4 sons and 5 grandchildren.
His Hobbies include running, reading and announcing for BCHS athletic events.
