BCHS Scholastic 3-D Archery team won the National Championship in Metropolis, Illinois. Congratulations!!! Katie Hemman also won first place in her division. Welcome to Boyd County High School NATIONAL CHAMPS!!! The BCHS Scholastic 3-D Archery Team 
 were the National Champions in the competition held at Metropolis, Illinois! Congratulations Reace McKnight! You kept your focus, and got a FOCUS! Thanks to Bill Cole Automall for donating the car that gave 38 seniors the ability to win it! Congratulations to our Governor's Scholars! Left, Elijah Miller; right, Shelby Willis. The program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Elijah Miller, right, was recognized as being named a 2018 Governor's Scholar, a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors. Shelby Willis was also named a Gov. Scholar but couldn't attend. Haylee Winters, center, and Sydney Winters, left, receive recognition for being named to the Morehead State University's Craft Academy. They will spend their junior and senior years earning college credits at MSU. Mrs. Annie Johnson, right, accepts a certificate of recognition given to the high school band for receiving a Distinguished rating at both the district and state KMEA assessments. BCHS Band Director is John Johnson. The high school choir was recognized for receiving a Distinguished Rating at the KY Music Educators Association's Assessment. Mr. Bowling, center, accepts a certificate along with a student representative from the choir. Students of Arts and Humanities Department Head Mike Spears painted windows downtown for Braidy's theme "family" for First Friday.
